EXPERIENCE

I have 6 years of experience as a private tutor, dividing my time between Barcelona and London.  My experience is concentrated on teaching Spanish and English as a second language.

Additionally, I taught English at a secondary school in Barcelona full-time from September 2013 - 2014. I have several years of experience as a professional translator, translating from English to Spanish in various subject matters. I am currently a professional reader for a publishing company based in Barcelona.

Scholarships:

Throughout my academic career I have gained a variety of scholarships, including the Beca De Posgrado Caja Madrid, which is the most prestigious postgraduate scholarship awarded in Spain. Additionally, I was awarded a substantial scholarship from London School of Economics for my MSc, and was awarded the Beca De Posgrado Sa Nostra for my MA at Birkbeck.

APPROACH TO TUITION

I have a well structured approach which aims to uncover the student's weaknesses within the first few sessions. For example, underlying confusion about verb tenses often needs to be resolved before we can address more advanced issues. After the initial assessment, I devise a comprehensive improvement scheme, which includes continual assessment of the student's progression.

Additionally I am friendly and patient, and am careful to tailor lessons to my student's interests to keep them motivated and engaged.
